I love to watch the Food Channel and recently I have noticed that many of the shows on the channel are competitions. They can be fun to watch but I like shows such as Ina Garten’s that show me different ways to use ingredients and prepare meals. A few months ago I started watching John Besh’s Family Table on our local PBS station. John owns restaurants in New Orleans and lives in Louisiana. He shares many great recipes and cooking techniques on his show and includes many Southern ingredients. He will create a dish and show you the specific techniques to prepare it.
Here is a link to his website:
John is entertaining, informative and interesting to watch. He doesn’t come across as being an expert but as someone that cooks from the heart. That is the true definition of a Southern cook but really, couldn’t that be a definition of anyone that loves to share their love for cooking that comes straight from their heart? I think John’s cookbook is going to be on my Christmas Wish List this year.
Check out his website and thanks for stopping by.
