Today, I am sharing pictures from my Thanksgiving meal and I was very pleased with the results. Making some dishes ahead of time kept me from being a frazzled and exhausted cook. I gave our family a generous share of the food that was left over so my task today is easier. I will incorporate my leftover yams and cranberry salad into my Sunday meal. I also have leftover chicken and dressing that will be served at that time. I will boil the carcass of my bird today and I will probably do that in the crockpot. That will give me a great base for some type of chicken soup soon. If I do not have time to prepare the soup over the weekend, I will freeze the broth from the bird. I will add a green vegetable, probably steamed broccoli, with my Sunday meal. I plan to incorporate the cucumber and tomatoes in a salad that will be part of my meal tonight or tomorrow night.
In the next picture you can see the pine cone turkey place cards that my grandchildren made. My grandson who is now five, helped set the table. I served whipped cream with my pies and my grandson and two year old granddaughter helped with that. That is, if you call, licking the beaters help but they really enjoyed that part.
The first picture is especially for my sister Maxine and she wanted to see a picture of the table before we ate. I am thankful that she reminded me to do this and I hope everyone reading this had a great day.
