I clipped this recipe from the newspaper years ago. I looked at it and thought it was very labor intensive. Actually, it doesn’t take that much work but you do have to prepare the salad in layers so it isn’t something you would mix together in one bowl and put in the fridge to chill. This would be a great recipe for a special family event, reunion or covered dish meal. Dream Whip is still available in my area but I live in a very barren area for grocery stores so you may have it readily available in your area of the world. I love anything that has layers of flavors and this definitely does. It isn’t something that is prepared often in my area. If you have read my previous blogs, you know I am not a fan of molded salads and I probably thought I would try my hand at this as it is one of those congealed salads without the mold. This recipe was clipped in the 80’s and I am sure I was trying to prove myself as a true Southern woman that could make a good congealed salad.
